National Field Sales Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a National Field Sales Manager (Retail) to lead JDE’s national field sales team in New Zealand. In this role you would be responsible for the management of the retail execution of customer, category and marketing strategies within the NZ retail channel. You would be out in the field regularly, working closely with the Field Sales Specialists in your team, and spend time in our office in Auckland presenting your plans to the greater management team. In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for leading the NZ Retail Field Team (currently a team of 13), planning and organising the team cadence
  • Play a leading role in Field negotiation of key store JBPs, supporting the team to achieve strong outcomes
  • Manage the overall Field merchandising budget and manage the 3rd party merchandising providers to deliver the sales and marketing activity plan
  • Coach and develop the Field Sales Specialists including days in trade, personal development plans, team training plans and onboarding
  • Be the voice of the field internally, sharing customer priorities, news, key developments, operational considerations through monthly updates and attendance of key internal meetings
  • Use your continuous improvement mindset to continuously evaluate what we can do to better to keep on winning in the market

For this role as a National Field Sales Manager in Retail, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • You have extensive FMCG experience and you’re an expert of the New Zealand retail landscape
  • You have a proven track record of leading and developing a sales team
  • You have strong commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • You have a continuous improvement mindset
  • You don’t mind frequent travel to the South Island (approx. 1 week per month) and across the North Island
